I feel like it's just so controversial, it's so perfect. Everyone's going to tune in and either hate watch the Astros or root for the Astros, and so I don't know. You know what, guys? I'm crazy. Is anybody there?
Speaker 2:what's up, dad? Hack who? And welcome to another episode of the dad hack chronicles podcast this week.
Speaker 2:Well, we go to part two, all right, uh, we and by we I mean val paul, eric, donnie patrick and I we finish our conversation actually not finished, because it's there's a part three we continue this conversation of baseball at the end of the year. Our teams, uh, player movements, uh, rumors, and even guys I am going to need you guys to put your tinfoil hats on, because there's some crazy talks. I'm telling you, you guys are going to enjoy it. You guys are not going to regret putting that hat on. Okay, and without further ado, I give you the episode they.
Speaker 3:Yeah, the blue jays love a player that can play multiple positions. I mean, that's what a super utility, utility guy. They, they love those kind of players.
Speaker 2:I can see him going to Toronto.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I'd take him.
Speaker 2:So would a lot of teams right now. What about you, Paul?
Speaker 4:People do talk about Juan Soto for the Phils. I don't predict that he's going to end up there. I also think that the Phillies like have enough great offensive players. They just need to fix their approach right, like they just need to stop striking out all the damn time.
Speaker 2:They need a hitting coach. That's who they should design.
Speaker 4:They need a hitting coach for real right, for real, like they have like several generational talents who, if they could corral them. So I don't think adding another like giant hitter to the lineup is the thing, but I'm you know, I'd be very curious to see if the Phillies would go out after like a like a Corbin Burns or a Max Reed right, like to go after one of these sort of high profile pictures.
Speaker 2:Interesting. Yeah, I like it All right. So I'm going interesting. Yeah, I like it all right. So I'm gonna go around around here and then I'm gonna ask because we're all fans of ours that we have different teams, right? I'm gonna first start by asking, uh, your thoughts on on your, how your team did the season. Uh, and I'm gonna start with you. Patrick, just want to get the lowest you know team on the totem pole here.
Speaker 5:He's working his way up. I'm going to work my way up. Okay, I guess I'm last.
Speaker 2:You are Patrick. Tell me, how did your team do?
Speaker 3:Well, your wonderful listeners can't see this, but that's the first time I've seen Eric Prophet smile all night so well done to you First time I've seen Eric profit smile all night so well.
Speaker 3:So, um, so, the um, I think you, I think you that, I think the foreshadowing that you did to introduce that worked really well, ed, but I was. I was naturally disappointed with the, with the outcome. I was yeah, let me do this to my best, paul Caputo, I was less than pleased with the performance of my Toronto blue Jays for the 2023,24 season. Yeah, shoot the last two years. So, anyways, on paper it looked like it was a team that really could do something. We've had a really durable rotation, but the offense just hasn't been there. I mean, there's a lot of strikeouts, a lot of runners in scoring position that aren't moved home. I mean a lot of wasted runners in scoring position and really just guys that are underperforming, and they did it all season.
Speaker 3:The team actually got better when they got rid of some of the expiring contracts and when you let some of the young guys play, even though the Blue Jays don't have an elite farm system. I mean, let's be just completely honest about it. The top three prospects have had surgeries of some sort that have kept them out for extended periods of time. Some of the players that did come up wanted to play for the jersey and they did really, really well. Like Spencer, horowitz comes to mind, had a really, really good year at second base, but he can play third, he can play first, he can play all around the diamond. He's just the kind of player that the the Blue Jays love.
Speaker 3:Um, it was good to see even though he didn't play quite as well Davis Schneider, you know, just a gamer really liked. I, really liked some of the young guys. That was the lone bright spot this season but overall very, very disappointing. Obviously finished, finished and last in the al east. Um, I I kind of called this when the season started I actually called them to be fourth, so they did even worse than even I thought they'd do, but uh, congratulations, but congratulations.
Speaker 3:Thank you very much, but you know, it can't get, can't get much worse in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 6:So we'll put away the last words. I know.
Speaker 3:Right.
Speaker 6:Don't do that.
Speaker 3:No, no. So I said it can't get much worse. I didn't say, it couldn't get worse, it can't get much worse. So, yeah, so much worse.
Speaker 3:So yeah, so yeah, I mean obviously I think it's not going to be any surprise to anyone that it was very disappointing, particularly with the payroll that I can't say ownership didn't invest, it's just that you know, investments have been really good with pitching because the pitching has been really good, at least starting rotation wise. But the but we need desperate help in the bullpen and we we need help. We need desperate help in the lineup. We need it. We need a power bat.
Speaker 2:So I think we have power bats you just need well, we need a power bat that can actually produce.
Speaker 3:That's not vladimir jr um, so I think we'll be linked with juan soto.
Speaker 2:I don't think we'll get juan soto but just like you guys were linked with Otani, yes, I got you. Eric, I got you I got you.
Speaker 5:We'll be sure the plane's headed towards Toronto again.
Speaker 3:Yeah, Well, this time we're going to charter a private plane.
Speaker 2:That was a private plane.
Speaker 3:And we'll go commercial this time, just to make it fun.
Speaker 2:How about?
Speaker 3:that yeah. Okay, gotcha, you know so.
Speaker 2:Everybody's going to be looking at. You know planes coming out of the Dominican Republic and see where if it's going to Canada.
Speaker 3:Well, you know, maybe we'll get a Rogers airlines or something like that, you know, since they, you know, like, maybe they can just have their own airline at this point and and bring them over, and then we'll see, it's maybe one of the other sharks from you know, from, uh, from shark, maybe, it's. Maybe, instead of Robert Herjavec, it's, it's, it's a different one.
Speaker 2:So there you go, you know.
Speaker 1:Val, you're next girl. I'm going to keep this short because I'm going to say that the only excuse for us was the World Series hangover and injury. I will say World Series hangover and injury. I feel like the Dolies, our guys from last year that really carried us, weren't where they were last year this year Dolies Garcia and then we dealt with so much injury in our key players like Corey Seager, josh Young obviously still paying a pitcher that Max Scherzer, before I start ranting, I'm sorry, not Max Scherzer. Well, max Scherzer too.
Speaker 2:Max Scherzer should be done at this point. He hasn't really done anything the last couple of years.
Speaker 1:Jacob deGrom, and then I feel I had hope going into July when there were conversations and then we started talking I guess not just conversations but saw Kumar Rocker, Jack Lighter come up too and I was like, okay, then maybe these young guys can kind of fill in that gap of those veterans. I don't know why I was giving myself that much hope, but I was. And so I just feel like World Series hangover, injuries and just the spark was not I mean, yeah, World Series hangover, it's really what it was.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, eric.
Speaker 6:Yeah. So finally, after what like a 56-win season last year, we had a 30-win improvement. It's a lot better than what anybody anticipated. Our owner, john Sherman, finally spent money, which was shocking because I don't know the last time that the royals have really ever spent money. So they went out and got waka, lugo, um, a couple other like hampson which he was terrible although he did good in the playoffs, but a couple, a couple veteran guys to come in and obviously pretty young, with the a lot of the rest of the team. So finally spending money. So we made it to the playoffs and swept Baltimore in the wild card, which was nice, and uh, we lost. Uh, we took one game from the Yankees but lost the other three, but overall, you know, way better than anticipated or expected. So bringing back Waka and having Lugo and Reagan's the top three. And then I'm not really familiar with does anybody know Kyle Wright. Is he worth anything?
Speaker 2:I love how just Paul just laughed at that. I would say he's like.
Speaker 3:Hmm, I'd say. I'd say, five or six years ago, Kyle Wright was worth something. I don't know.
Speaker 6:We had Kyle Wright. He was on ILO last year and he just was reinstated today, so I don't know if he'll be like a fourth or fifth starter with Singer. Yeah. So I don't really know much about him, so I don't know what to expect from him, but we need a fifth starter because Alec Marsh had a few moments here and there but wasn't that good. I think he'll be better out of the bullpen.
Speaker 6:Um so, and then obviously the bats went pretty cold in the playoffs. Our top three hitters uh, two, three and four had, I think, seven hits all together in the alds and they obviously got to do a lot better than that. Yeah, so they got to figure out something with the hitting. Most of these guys, the pitchers like Lugo threw he won a gold glove they announced was it today or yesterday and Bobby Witt Jr Lugo threw over 200 innings and that's the most he's thrown in many, many years. So you could tell a lot of those guys were kind of pretty tired by the end of it. So it'll be interesting to see, kind of, what we do next year. Hopefully you can make the playoffs again. But yeah, pretty, pretty excited for what we end up doing being able to get the playoffs this year, yeah.
Speaker 2:I had them finishing second in the division and we did you did. Yeah, it was Well. Did, yeah, it was Well. Yeah, because it was between you and Detroit. No, you guys were the second wild card, so you guys finished third. So it was Cleveland, detroit, kansas City, wasn't it?
Speaker 6:No, we won the very last game. Detroit lost to the White Sox, so we were right.
Speaker 1:You're right, you're right, you're right.
Speaker 6:You're right on that. We took second. I was trying to think of Minnesota, but they didn't even make the playoffs, which that was a huge surprise, because they kind of took care of it last year when the AL Central was terrible, and this year three teams made it in the playoffs from the Central.
Speaker 2:And it wasn't the teams that we were expecting, paul, and it wasn't the teams that we were expecting.
Speaker 4:So, paul, I'm going to focus on the positive with the Phillies, because they did, for the first time in 13 years, win the National League East. On the strength of a super strong start, their early playoff exit after the. On the strength of a super strong start, their early playoff exit, you know, after the first round, bye. It was a little bit predictable, just because they never really could put together like a solid sort of stretch of winning in the second half of the season. I blame Ranger Amy and me. We saw the Phillies play in four different time zones, including in Seattle, in Colorado, in Philadelphia and in London. Not Japan, not Japan. Weirdly, the Phillies did not play in Japan.
Speaker 2:Maybe next year, maybe next year Actually, who is it?
Speaker 4:The Cubs and the Dodgers are playing in Tokyo to start the season next year. There it is, yeah.
Speaker 3:And Ed, maybe you can fix this in editing, but that's actually only three time zones.
Speaker 4:I'm pretty sure it's four.
Speaker 3:Mountain does Seattle oh you got me Nice.
Speaker 4:All right, touché, touché, oh boy. So you know it is, you know they are. They were a great regular season team. They're sort of the opposite of what they've been for the last couple of years. They were a great regular season team and held on and won the division over the Braves An injured Braves team and a Mets team that had just got off to a really bad start and couldn't quite catch up in the division. But the Mets were who the Phillies were. The last two years, right Like, came into the playoffs, hot, won a couple of really dramatic series holy smokes that mets. That peter lonzo home run in game five against the, the brewers like holy smokes. What a moment that was. I was actually watching that game with a mets fan at a bar and so that was actually. That was a you know as much as I was rooting against the mets, kind of kind of fun. But I knew when they won that series that they were going to beat the Phillies right like it was just like the momentum going yeah so, uh, you know.
Speaker 4:So I don't know what the Phillies do to turn this around right, because they got a bunch of guys who they they went. They went out of the playoffs for the same reason two years in a row. You know they could mash their way to to the playoffs, to a division title, but you know that's going to ultimately fail you in a five to seven game playoff series. Same thing happened to him against Arizona in 2023. So yep.
Speaker 4:However, that NLEs title is kind of nice. I like that. First time in 13 years, I like it.
Speaker 6:You should get rid of your first baseman we should get rid of your first baseman.
Speaker 4:We should get rid of our first baseman. Huh, Trade him while the value's high.
Speaker 6:He's not going to win anything because as soon as he left Washington, they won.
Speaker 4:I see it's a sample size of one right there I think. He has won a National League championship with the Phillies.
Speaker 2:He has. That is true. Okay, so I guess I'm next.
Speaker 3:So, Ed, what about your team, Mr Ed Rivera?
Speaker 2:Here's what I'm going to say, guys, I was pleasantly surprised at how my Guardians play this year and I never I don't think I ever gave you guys my opinion on Steven vote as far as, like you know, a higher. It wasn't a good hire or a better. I never said anything. I was like I want to see how he, how he coaches. And man, oh man, did he coach? He did an absolute wonderful job, you know, manager of the year. In my opinion, like you know, like I mean, the guy did an absolute wonderful job taking that team from what being in third place, third, fourth place in the division to winning the, you know to, to winning the central. I, that was, that was a good, good, uh, progression. I'll say this All year the team relied heavily, heavily, heavily heavily on their pitching.
Speaker 2:They had no bats. That was the biggest issue with the Cleveland Guardians. They had no bats. And then when they went and met against the Yankees, I don't know man, they just like you know, like what was the strength of the team? It failed them and then they had nothing. You know what I mean. They had a couple of a couple of bright spots, but other than that they're really, you know, the Yankees just outslugged them. It's as simple as that. The Yankees lineup outslugged the Cleveland pitching.
Speaker 2:Having said that, I was. We were playing with house money. I was very happy how this team, you know, played all year. It was exciting to have a team that's actually good and to root for, so I was good. What I did not expect throughout the playoffs was to see that Frank Kona decided that he wants to go back to managing and is going to be managing the Cincinnati Reds. Like, did anybody had that in their bingo card? No, because I didn't. That he wants to go back to managing and is going to be managing the Cincinnati Reds? Like, did anybody have that in their bingo card?
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:Because I didn't. So do I, you know? I want to say I say, hey, cleveland needs some help with starting pitching and they need a really good solid bat in that lineup. Do I think they're going to get it? No, I don't think so. I think, you know they're going to. They're going to, you know, fill up a couple of spots here and there, but ownership is cheap and they're not going to do anything about it. And so they saw that there was successful. They were successful like this, so they're going to be like let's just run it back. That's my opinion. I'm very happy. Cleveland Guardians actually played a good. They had a good year, so very happy for them, donnie.
Speaker 5:Wise. Well, I think Francona pulled in Urban Meyer and needed to concentrate on his health for about nine months, and then his health was fine again.
Speaker 2:Well, I'm not going to say anything on that note.
Speaker 4:Just go ahead and continue. It's time for. Donnie to talk about his team, the Savannah Bananas.
Speaker 2:Okay, Paul Okay.
Speaker 5:Okay, hey, earmuffs Ed, I am going to see them Thursday night. Mother trucker At Clemson they all stars, the Bananas all. Mother trucker At Clemson, the All-Stars, the Bananas All-Stars are playing against the Clemson Tiger baseball team on Thursday night. That's cool. It's their first game against a college team.
Speaker 2:So happy for you that you're going to go see the circus.
Speaker 5:It was a K-Club exclusive event as well.
Speaker 5:Good for you about NC and the circus. Good for you. Good for you about NC and the circus. Good for you. Good for you. Earmuffs, ed Earmuffs oh sorry, I apologize. As far as my team, I mean, I can't be too disappointed. We made it to the World Series and at least gave it a shot, but despite that we were really kind of a mess in a lot of different places. I don't like the fact that we've pretty much been a all or nothing, all or nothing, all or nothing at you know the two, three, four slots. You know we, we don't have, we need the, we need the, the lineup to be more full, more filled out.
Speaker 5:If you want to say, I just I don't't like stanton, I've never liked stanton, but uh, he can't run, he can only hit and that's oh, it was, I don't need him obvious that he can't run exactly I just I think he's faster in stanton, though that's what's funny to me I think I am, I think all of us are, no, but anyway, you know, there's just the pitching didn't land like it was supposed to. On paper it was supposed to be best pitching staff and then they come out there and they're flat and that's just for the World Series. I mean overall, you had guys like I mean, you know we had some injuries. Nester started out the season pretty much uh kind of on fire and then he didn't do much of anything. Most of our other pitching just kind of meddled along most of the season. Um, you know, everybody has injuries. You overcome your injuries, you get, you move on. So we kind of got hot at the right time going into the playoffs.
Speaker 5:I think a little bit. But then Aaron Boone just constantly manages you out of situations and then he gets lucky and gets like bailed out by some home runs here and there. It's like we have no balance. Everything is all or nothing from every standpoint and it it stinks we. We need, we need more balance. We don't need to have reliance on the home run all the time. I get so sick of judge trying to hit home runs instead of just swinging it at. It's saying hit singles, it doubles, whatever he chases so much junk trying to kill it. So, um, I'd like us. You get a better reliever.
Speaker 5:As far as a closer is concerned, I like Luke. I just don't think he's a closer. I think he's a great setup man for a closer. I think he could be that kind of wetland to a you know, I'm going to find a Mariano, but you know something like that Somebody that's more of a true shut-em-down closer. Come in behind him. I think that would go a long way for us, but ultimately, I think it starts with Aaron Boone. I really do. I think we need a new manager.
Speaker 3:I don't know if that's going to happen.
Speaker 5:He just bought himself two more years homie. They haven't picked up his option or anything, so I don't know They'll restructure his contract. They haven't picked up his option or anything, so I don't know They'll restructure his contract. I mean, he probably earned some, some grace because of getting to the world series but at the same time, in ways they got there uh, just despite him. So, um, I don't know, I'm happy with the fact that they got there. It's just we sort of stumbled our way into that one, to be honest with you.
Speaker 1:Is the Nestor Cortez experiment over? It has to be, I mean, I kind of hope it is, Cause I think it was just.
Speaker 5:I mean, he's not consistent.
Speaker 4:Well according to Nestor, it's not.
Speaker 2:Look at Donnie, look how he gets the.
Speaker 5:I just I don't know. Like I said, we need more consistency in our pitch and there's a couple of pitchers I'd love for us to go after. Of course, we're going to be mentioned in some of those Paul mentioned them earlier a couple of the guys that are going to be free agents. I mean, I'd love to get either of those guys that are available or any of those guys and Adam, obviously, cole's coming back, so his blunder didn't hurt him either, and it's not all him, even though Ed knows my feelings on that. That's where I mean that solely was on him, in my opinion, but I don't know. We need a better first baseman, we need one better outfielder, we need one less all or nothing. Hitter, um, and I don't even know what to say about uh, uh, lugo. I mean uh, not lugo, uh just went out.
Speaker 5:No outfielder, uh, right fielder, left fielder, god what's?
Speaker 1:his name just went right out of my head verdugo yes, get rid of him, get rid of him gosh I, I don't like him at all.
Speaker 5:I've never liked him um, sorry, I just drew a total of blank on his name right there.
Speaker 2:Get rid of him, dude. Just get him out. Yeah, he's dumb.
Speaker 3:So, donnie, do you think the Yankees would consider like a manager by committee, because I know two candidates who would be outstanding for those roles.
Speaker 1:Oh, here we go.
Speaker 3:Their names are John Schneider and Ross Atkins. They would be a great managerial like duo for the Yankees.
Speaker 2:I'm just saying you're just saying yeah, he's just saying um any comment or no, okay all right, guys. So so here's my question for you guys uh, and we've we've had this discussion, but I want, I want to, uh, paul, we, you know I've said it a couple of times that me and Paul had this discussion about the world series needed to juggernauts, right, two of the blue bloods this year. You know, overall this year, look at, look at valve, that was like, hmm, I don't know about that he doesn't like that either.
Speaker 1:I have something to say about this, so go on.
Speaker 2:But overall besides that's part one and then part two do you guys think that the playoffs was a success this year?
Speaker 1:Can I answer that?
Speaker 4:Go for it. I mean, val, you're champing at the bit here. I know, look at it, you're like I don't want to talk.
Speaker 1:Okay, I want to say this, and if this comes across the wrong set of ears, I'm really sorry, just like the Las Vegas hat.
Speaker 4:Okay, here we go. Yeah, Val's putting on the playoffs as F Oakland and all their fans.
Speaker 1:I know right, Welcome to Las Vegas and the Expos while I'm at it.
Speaker 3:Now LV stands to listen to Val.
Speaker 1:Oh nice, lv stands to listen to Val, oh nice, I feel like, okay, I just want to say this, and I hope I don't offend Like any Dodgers or Yankees fans I feel like I feel like MLB Got exactly what they wanted, like, without a doubt and I hate to say this as a Rangers fan, I almost felt guilty that the World Series that happened Last year is the World Series that happened last year, is the World Series that happened last year, because we were subjected to, yeah, okay, two powerhouses Yankees, dodgers but it's like, wow, like I feel like MLB really had to make this World Series happen, rigged, I don't care what, okay, let me not go there, but I, I feel like that's a different podcast.
Speaker 2:I was like Is this Joe Rogan, all of a sudden. What happened? Yeah, this is not Conspiracy Theories.
Speaker 1:Yeah, let me save that for another day. I feel like, wow, like we had to be subjected to like a forced World Series. Was last year's that bad? Like ratings were low, this is what we had and there wasn't an issue with it. It just didn't feel like genuine. Like I've cheated on video games to like get to the like. You know how. Like when you play a video game and then like you do like the tutorial, and then it like shows you how to get there, and then you stop with the tutorial midway and then you get there and then you finish it and you're like, oh my god, like that was not an exciting win. That's kind of what the World Series felt like. Like it just didn't feel genuine to me.
Speaker 4:I think what you're speaking to. I mean, if there was anything artificial about it, it's just the fact that those teams were constructed with a lot of money, right, because they're in the biggest market, so they were the two best teams in the regular season, and that was a compelling storyline. What you're speaking to, val, like when people are like, oh, the Rangers and the diamondbacks, nobody cares. I think that's more a question of just major league baseball doesn't do a great job of marketing all of its teams.
Speaker 4:I think, so I don't think there's anything artificial. I don't think this was forced. I think I think it came to fruition just because those teams have a lot of money and were able to build rosters that performed up to expectations. But I think if Major League Baseball had the ability to rig something like this, you wouldn't see Houston having the success that it's had over the years.
Speaker 2:You wouldn't see Well Houston having the success that it's had over the years, you wouldn't see.
Speaker 4:So let's you know you, you wouldn't see.
Speaker 1:You know you wouldn't see a Rangers Diamondbacks World Series right like and that's why I kind of feel like it was rigged, because it's like maybe they weren't trying to control it as much last year assuming that they were, maybe they weren't trying to control it as much last year and and it's like, oh, let's make sure this doesn't happen again, please.
Speaker 4:So how do you like? Now now you've got me how do you think they controlled it? They controlled it by stacking the rosters, or do you think that they were like in the umpires?
Speaker 1:Just sus calls throughout the playoffs that shouldn't have happened, just calls that went in favor.
Speaker 2:You're you Listen, I'm going to stop you there for a second Look at Eric. Eric right now is like yep, that's right, I did that against my Kansas City Royals.
Speaker 6:Yep, she knows. She knows what she's talking about. I don't need to say anything, she's saying it for me.
Speaker 1:And so I just feel like there were so many questionable calls against that. Padres Dodgers, oh, and don't even get me started on that series. I really just feel like the pot and God. I pray like oh my gosh, this is you know what. Let me not go there.
Speaker 2:No, it's too late.
Speaker 1:No, because I don't want to take up too much time and sound crazy, because I already talked to myself at night about this. Who cares?
Speaker 2:We're not even an hour in, do you know?
Speaker 4:what I think the fail-safe is against that in real life. It's not like the powers that be, it's not the law, it's Las Vegas. Las Vegas would never allow a rigged major sport.
Speaker 1:That's not where I was going, but okay.
Speaker 4:The folks who set the betting odds in Vegas would never let it happen.
Speaker 1:I just feel like the odds changed. The odds fluctuated at the right times because at one point the Padres were like plus there were favorites to win it and the Dodgers had much higher odds, and so a lot of the money went in on San Diego at that moment because of how on fire they were. That was great for Vegas because they knew that the Padres weren't going to win it all. Why? Because it's rigged.
Speaker 4:Val, you know I love you, but that's cuckoo bananas.
Speaker 1:Val, you know I love you but that's cuckoo bananas, all I'm saying. I'll end it with this MLB. You got what you wanted. Let's go back to normal baseball next year.
Speaker 2:Listen, I'm not saying that we need to see the Blue Bloods Every year in the World Series. I'm just saying, you know, there's nothing wrong with having them this year. You know, grow the sport, the popularity. Listen, there was a massive increase in viewership this year, like I mean, it was big.
Speaker 5:Oh, and I would say this If there is any conspiracies for MLB, don't you think they would have not waited 15 years to get the Yankees into the World Series? I mean, that goes against everything for them to sit back for 15 years. We're just not going to worry about correcting this and then, all of a sudden, we're going to do it this year.
Speaker 2:The problem is that Major League cheated us so much and then the Yankees were like we're going to hire Boone because he's going to be along.
Speaker 1:I just feel like it didn't dawn on them until it made sense for them, like there's no way that the Dodgers were going to get Otani, and it was like yes, they did.
Speaker 2:No, no, no, no.
Speaker 1:There's no way that the Dodgers weren't going to get Otani and MLB was going to be like, all right, it can't be like. Um, like a Dodgers. No offense to Marlins fans, marlins World Series Like it can't be that they couldn't have a World Series. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, let me Guardians. Sorry, ed, what did I?
Speaker 2:do to you.
Speaker 1:It can't be like a I don't know what I was thinking Dodgers, guardians, blue Jays, royals A's type. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2:You really are hitting on the A's a lot here.
Speaker 1:You might want to calm down Now. They've got to make it fun. So I just feel like it was all about timing for them, and what a coincidence that this was the World Series that they got right after last year's World Series. And I feel like the Astros are great money makers for them too, because I feel like it's just so controversial, it's so perfect. Everyone money makers for them too, because I feel like it's just so controversial, it's so perfect. Everyone's gonna tune in and either hate, watch the astros or root for the astros and so I don't know.
